Vegemite is an Australian favourite, a yeast extract known for its black/deep brown colour and salty flavour. Delicious to spread on toast, in a sandwich or maybe with smashed avacado. Vegemite is often compared to it's British rival, Marmite, but is thicker in texture like peanut butter. Many say Vegemite has a more intense flavour than it's British equivalent, but it depends how much of the yeast extracts you slather on your bread!
