Hot cross buns are enjoyed by many English speaking countries around Easter time. A sweet and spiced bread bun filled with raisins, currants or both and mostly recognised by the cross on top. Hot cross buns mark the end of Lent for Christians, but enjoyed by all. Different parts of the hot cross bun carry representations, the cross being the crucifixion of Jesus, the spices symbolise the embalming at his burial, the buns sometimes include orange peel to bring bitterness of Jesus's time on the cross. Cut in half and enjoy your hot cross bun cold, or toast and spread a layer of butter. Maybe add another spread such as jam, Marmite or try with some cheese.
We normally expect hot cross buns to arrive around 6 weeks before Easter each year. Register your email address and we will notify you when they come into stock. You can also keep an eye on our Instagram and Facebook for latest updates! Please note, prices and brand are subject to change.
